Job code DS-01
Warehousing, Kitting and Dispatch
A printed run that sits in cartons in a corridor is not delivered. We hold the stock, assemble whatever each recipient is supposed to receive, and dispatch against your list, so the job ends at the recipient rather than at the bindery door.
| Stock holding | Palletised, counted in and out with a running balance |
|---|---|
| Kitting | Multi-item per recipient, contents fixed in writing |
| Packing | Corrugated mailers and cartons sized to the volume |
| Dispatch | Courier and registered post, tracking recorded per line |
| Reporting | Dispatched, returned and remaining, per release |

Questions
Questions we are asked
- What happens to undelivered copies?
- They come back into held stock, are recorded as returned against the recipient line, and are reported rather than quietly re-shelved.
- Can we release a run in phases?
- Yes. Held stock exists for exactly that. Each release is dispatched and reconciled separately against the same balance.
